Grizzly Bears

THe grizzly bear is a solitary animal. The exception to the rule is the female grizzly with her cubs.These animals are omnivors as they eat both plants and animals.Although they are at the top of the food chain, much of their diet consists of nuts, berries, fruit, leaves and roots. They have been known to go after moose and rodents.
Despite there size they are quit fast. They have been clocked at 30 miles (48 kilometers) an hour. They can run down hill and have been known to climb trees.They can be dangerous to humans, particularly if surprised or if humans come between a mother and her cubs.
only about 1,000 grizzlies remain in the continental U.S., where they are protected by law. Many grizzlies still roam the wilds of Canada and Alaska, where hunters pursue them as big game trophies.
When in active bear territory it recommemded you travel in groups.
Carry bear spray.
